Maturity and stability assessment of composted tomato residues and chicken manure using a rotary drum bioreactor

نویسندگان

چکیده

The efficiency of the composting process for tomato residues and chicken manure was estimated after monitoring rotary system. Physicochemical parameters Compost Quality Index were evaluated. (leaves, stems, some green damaged fruits) collected, cut into small pieces, moistened approximately (60–65%), mixed with 20% then distributed three drum bioreactors. obtained results showed that, temperature above 50°C maintained more than two days. Carbon: nitrogen (C:N) ratio reduced from 30:1 to 19.13:1. pH value ranged between 7 8.80 during process, while electrical conductivity (EC) 2.67 4.53 dS/m. Both compost quality (Dewar germination index) (Solvita-CO2 Solvita-NH3) indicated final is stable mature.Implications: idea this research revolves around assessing maturity stability resulting mixing manure, using a bioreactor which characterized by reducing time active phase several hours or days instead weeks months. Several tests related mixture have been used judge its quality. Also, many topic monitored discussed previous researches determine importance benefiting different wastes together obtaining good fertilizer ready application as an agricultural substrate soil conditioner.

maturity and stability evaluation of composted municipal solid wastes

conclusions the produced compost in this study was mature and ready for use as an agricultural substrate or soil conditioner after 80 days of composting. results the results showed that the c/n ratio decreased during the composting process (reached to 15.6) due to the loss of carbon and the increase in nitrogen content per unit material; also, the nh4+/no3 ratio decreased with increase in the t...

Feasibility of Composting Combinations of Sewage Sludge, Cattle Manure, and Sawdust in a Rotary Drum Reactor

The aim of this paper was to study the effect of five different waste combinations (C/N 15, C/N 20, C/N 25, C/N 30, and control) of sewage sludge coupled with sawdust and cattle manure in a pilot scale rotary drum reactor, during 20 days of the composting process. Our results showed that C/N 30 possesses a higher temperature regime with higher % reduction in moisture content, total organic carb...
